Tablets allow high ingredient loads in a compact dose, and they are well suited to complex formulas that combine vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts in the same product. Icare’s team works on formulations from the simplest single-active tablet to complex multi-ingredient products that require careful process design.
Wet and Dry Granulation
Not every blend can be compressed directly. Granulation improves flow, density and compressibility so that tablets reach target weight, hardness and disintegration. Icare has the capability to conduct both wet and dry granulation, and the right approach is selected according to ingredient sensitivity to heat and moisture, particle size and the overall formula.
Tablet Formats
Depending on the project, tablet formats that can be discussed include uncoated tablets, film-coated tablets, chewable tablets and other specialised formats such as sustained-release, enteric-coated and orally disintegrating tablets. Format availability is confirmed during feasibility assessment for each formula.
Coating, Size and Swallowability
Tablet size, shape and coating influence how easy a product is to swallow, how it looks on shelf and how well it is protected from moisture and light. We consider these factors together with dose and the number of tablets per serving.
Packaging
Tablets can be packed into bottles with induction seals and desiccants, or into blister packs, with labelling and cartons coordinated for your target market.
